Most of us say that we need food, water and oxygen to live. I say there is another equally important ingredient to life, called friends. Where I am concerned, I honestly don’t know where I would be, had it not been for the company of great friends. People who have always been there to lift you up when you’re down. Good friends are those who’ll give you company to dinner even though they’ve already eaten, those who’d listen to your silly little tantrums and anguishes and still not think any less of you, those who’d drive you home when it’s late at night, those who’ll let you stay over when you’re too drunk to go home, those who’ll be there to give you advice from experience, and lots lots more.
They may be late for get-together's, they may forget to wish you on important events, they may not even speak to you for days on end, but when you really need them, they’re always there. Recent events have assured me that there will always be a friend around to help when needed, even if not anything else, at least they’ll be there to give me a patient hearing. The Beatles were so correct when they said, “I get by with a little help from my friends…”
Like I once heard in a TV serial, “True friends may not be there when you want them, but they’ll surely be there when you need them” !!!
